The Saluggia bean is a typical Piedmontese product grown throughout the
region, in Saluggia it has a small but very precious production.
Source of vegetable protein, beans are very nutritious and rich in vitamins A,
B, C, and E, also contain mineral salts and trace elements, such as potassium,
iron, calcium, zinc and phosphorus. Being legumes, beans are rich in lecithin,
which favors the emulsion of fats, thus avoiding its accumulation in the blood
and thereby reducing the level of cholesterol.
